Description
The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts in Boone, NC, welcomes visitors from the university, local community, and beyond to experience enriching encounters with the visual arts. Through dynamic and accessible exhibitions, educational initiatives and collection programs, the Turchin Center advances Appalachian State University’s teaching mission, fosters lifelong appreciation of the arts, and provides opportunities for individuals to deepen their understanding of themselves and the world around them. With rotating local, regional, national and international exhibitions on display in six galleries, admission is always free.
Visitors are encouraged to explore campus beyond the building itself, where outdoor artworks such as the “Transit Candy” stair mural, the Campus Arts Corridor, and the Rosen Sculpture Walk offer additional opportunities for exploration.
