High Country Press, Inc.

High Country Press was established 05-05-05 by Ken Ketchie along with the help of many writers, editors, designers, sales and support staff. On Feb. 29, 2012, the newspaper made the transition to the World Wide Web. Our new “webpaper” serves Watauga and Avery counties of Northwestern North Carolina. The publication is based in Boone, focusing on news, community information and events in Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and other surrounding areas of the High Country. Our magazine and visitor guide are still print publications.

High Country Press Publications publishes the High Country Magazine six times a year and a seasonal Visitor Guide for the summer, fall and winter seasons.

We debuted High South Weddings magazine in November 2015 and our High Country Press Home Magazine in spring 2016.
