Job Description
Position:
Full-time (30-40 hours/week) with benefits. This position primarily works in Avery County. Travel to WYN’s other service regions may also be required at times and will be reimbursed.
Position Details:
This position will work closely with the WYN Executive Director and Board of Directors to nurture existing supporters and to cultivate new ones to meet development goals to execute WYN’s mission and strategic vision.
Responsibilities:
The Donor Relations Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and will have significant responsibility for the creation and execution of a donor engagement plan. This position will be responsible for individual donor cultivation and relationship building, foundation and corporate giving, increasing WYN’s endowment fund, assisting with major fund development events and utilizing marketing and social media strategies for information and engagement.
Additional responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
Assisting with upkeep of donor database Coordinating all aspects of WYN’s annual fund development plan including major gifts, monthly gifts, bequests, online giving campaigns, etc. Maintaining a working knowledge of significant trends in the field of philanthropy Engaging Board members, staff members, and volunteers in fund development initiatives as appropriate
Qualifications:
Past experience partnering with donors to accomplish mutual philanthropic goals is preferred Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required Excellent attention to detail and follow through required Exceptional relationship builder Self-starter who is dependable, flexible, and willing to learn Willingness to embrace the mission of Western Youth Network and the agency’s commitment to belonging and inclusion Ability to demonstrate initiative and collaboration, meet internal and external deadlines and work both independently and as a team Connections within the Avery County and High Country community preferred, but not required Proficiency with computer-related tools including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and ability to learn donor data management systems Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or weekend events as needed
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary education preferred. Experience in non-profit development role preferred. Supervision Structure: The Donor Relations Coordinator will report directly to the WYN Executive Director. Compensation: In addition to a salary range from $48,000-$58,000 annually, compensation also includes fully paid health/dental/vision insurance, paid holiday, vacation/sick leave, paid family leave options, and travel reimbursements when applicable.
