Avery County Population: (year round)  approximately 18,0000

The summer residents return around mid May and stay until the last leaf falls mid to late October.

During this time, the population can swell to over 75,000 people enjoying the cool summer temperatures and relaxed lifestye which makes this a premier destination for visitors and residents.
