The eastern part of the town houses the government offices and provides the entryway to the skiing and golf at Hawksnest resort. There are numerous seasonal and permanent housing choices on this side of Seven Devils. The western section consists of the bulk of Tynecastle (which has evolved from the original Scottish reproduction town of Invershiel) and the Shoppes at Tynecastle, which includes the visitor’s center and several dining and retail options. The most obvious landmark is the spire of the castle located at the corner of Highways 105 and 184. This provides the turning point that sends travelers on to Sugar, Beech and Banner Elk. When you pass through this part of Seven Devils, be sure to stop in and visit with us here at the Avery Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce.
Home to the offices of the area’s official visitor’s center here at the Avery Chamber of Commerce, Seven Devils is a town dedicated to the pursuit of happiness. Seven Devils’ unique town boundaries stretch over the Tynecastle gated community to encompass part of Avery and Watauga counties.
